Dog Sees Off Burglar in Acomb

At around 4.50pm on Saturday 22 November 2014, the victim, a 66-year-old man, disturbed a youth who had got into his kitchen at his property on Baildon Close in Acomb.

The victim’s dog bit the youth on the leg and he ran off.

The youth is described as white, around 5ft 5in tall, with short dark hair which was parted. He was wearing light grey tracksuit bottoms, a light-coloured v-neck jumper and a navy blue raincoat.

He may also have an injury to his leg as a result of the dog bite.

Officers are appealing to anyone who can help to identify the youth to contact them with information.
