Waiting list for a dentist still high in York
5:50am 3rd March 2010
Waiting lists for an NHS dentist in York remain high.
Lorraine Naylor is responsible for Primary Care in York. She says the stats are still bad despite improvements being made. They show over five-thousand patients in the city are waiting to recieve treatment. The average wait is 6 to 8 months, but some people have been on the list for over 10.
Tonight, Lorraine will present her findings to the council's Health Scrutiny Committee. The plan is to launch a multi-million-pound venture to buy more NHS dentist provision in York to try and resolve the problem.
