Witnesses needed after taxi driver assaulted

A taxi driver has been assaulted in York.
THe 35 year old picked up three men from St Saviourgate on Saturday evening. During the course of the journey the men became verbally abusive before physically assaulting the driver.
The driver stopped on Rougier Street and got out of his vehicle, a dark blue saloon car, where he was assaulted again. The victim suffered slight swelling and bruising to his face in the incident but did not require hospital treatment.
PC Fiona Wilding of York Police said: “The assault took place outside a busy bus stop in the early evening. It will be memorable to witnesses as the vehicle was stationary in the middle of the carriageway. “If anyone witnessed the incident they should contact the police or Crimestoppers immediately.”
Description of Offenders
The first offender is described as white, around 5ft 8in tall, aged in his early 20s with short, dark, wavy hair. He was wearing a brown jumper and blue denim jeans.
The second man is described as olive-skinned, aged in his early 20s, about 5ft 7in tall, with a slim build and very short dark hair. He was wearing a brown jacket and dark trousers.
The third suspect is described as white, aged in his early 20s, approximately 5ft 7in tall with a medium build and short dark hair. He was wearing light-coloured checked shirt and blue denim jeans.
