Campaigners concerned about the future of Yearsley Pool in York have launched a petition to guarantee it's future.
The pool currently costs £250,000 a year in subsidies from city council and a review into it's future is set to take place in 2015, six months before the new Community Stadium and leisure centre are due to open.
Fiona Evans from the Yearsley Pool Action Group is worried.
The city council has said there are no plans to close Yearsley Pool and that it is keen for people who use Yearsley and those who live nearby to take it over.
But Fiona Evans says the pool cannot be run by volunteers.
The campaign is being backed by the city's Liberal Democrats, the party's leader Keith Aspden tells Minster FM why he believes it's so important.
