A York driving instructor is searching for a retired nurse called Sue, who saved her fathers life. Gill Oakes was at the Dormouse pub on Shipton Road on Saturday when her father, 83 year old Don, began to have a stroke. Luckily Gill picked up on the signs and called for help.

As this was happening, an ambulance was called and Don started to have a seizure. The resturant manager called for any diners who had medical experience and Sue offered her help, which Gill believes is a big part of why her dad is still here.

Now with Don on the mend, the Oakes family are looking to track down Sue to thank her personally.
