Scaffolding Collapses on Woman in Kirkbymoorside

A woman's in hospital with head and chest injuries after scaffolding collapsed on her outside a bank in Kirkbymoorside.
An ambulance and the air ambulance were called out to help the woman, who's in her sixties, after the collapse at 11.45am outside HSBC in the marketplace.
Police tell us workmen were taking down the scaffolding from the bank at the time.
The woman is being treated for her injuries at James Cook Hospital this afternoon after she was taken there by the air ambulance.
The Health and Safety Executive has now launched an investigation to find out why it happened.
