Students In Bus Collision Near Aldborough St John

Emergency services are currently dealing with a collision involving a college bus and a van. The incident was reported at 8.40am on Thursday 18 September 2014, on an unclassified road between Aldbrough St John and the road which leads to Piercebridge near Darlington.

Approximately 20 students have sustained what are believed to be minor injuries. They are being taken to various hospitals in the area for check-ups and treatment to their injuries. The driver of the van has sustained leg injuries and the driver of the bus has sustained minor injuries. The bus was en-route to Darlington College who have been informed of the decision.

Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Traffic Sergeants Hamish Halloway, or Graham Waller.
