Tributes to a murdered Huddersfield shopowner

Police say the death of Huddersfield shopkeeper, who was attacked during a robbery at his store, is an "absolute tragedy".

Gurmail Singh, described as extremely jolly and well-loved in the community, suffered a fatal head injury on Saturday night.

Tributes have been paid to him today, describing his as a "hard-working and polite" shopkeeper.

The leader of Kirklees Council, who knew the 63 year old father of two, also said he was "very popular in the area."

Mr Singh died in a botched robbery after suffering a head injury.

4 robbers, 1 armed with a hammer, were seen running away from his store.
