Motorcyclist Dies in Collision Near Sherburn in Elmet

It happened at around 4pm on Thursday 21 August 2014, when a silver Alfa Romeo car was in collision with a white Honda CBF motorbike, approximately 250 metres north of the junction with Gorse Lane.
Sadly, the motorcyclist, a 41-year-old man from Sherburn in Elmet, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision
The driver of the Alfa Romeo, a 73-year-old man from Leeds, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with a serious injury to his hand.
The motorcycle was travelling towards Sherburn in Elmet and the Alfa Romeo was travelling in the opposite direction.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw either of the vehicles prior to the collision or witnessed the actual crash, to contact them.

The road was closed until 9pm to allow emergency services to deal with the casualties and for collision investigators to examine the scene.
