Witness Appeal After Bishopthorpe Collision
11:36am 21st August 2014
It occurred between 5.15pm and 5.45pm on Monday 28 July 2014, on Main Street, Bishopthorpe.
A small silver, Fiesta sized, car reversed out of the car park of the Woodman pub and collided with a white Volkswagen Polo. The driver of the car then left the scene without leaving their details.
PC Nicola Elliot, of York Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “It may be that the driver of the silver car is unaware that a collision has taken place. If this is the case, I ask them to contact me so that I can take a statement from them."
“I would also ask anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward, as soon as possible, as they may have vital information which could help my enquiries.”
PC Elliot added:
“I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who works in a vehicle repair shop, who may have been asked to repair the body work of a small silver car around the date of the collision, and urge them to get in touch.”
Anyone who can assist with this investigation should contact York police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Nicola Elliot. Alternatively, information can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
