Lucy Walker, from York College, is urging parents of teenagers not to panic if they do not get the results they were hoping for.

She says A Levels aren't right for everyone, but that doesn't mean an end to their further education:

"It's about looking at what's right for the student.. we have lots of students do A Levels and get great results, but for some people they want a more hands on, practical course."

Tutors are on hand all day day at the college to give advice and help students figure out what next.

They are also running a GCSE hotline over the next week, open from 8am-6pm, apart from weekends and the Bank Holiday. Students can get advice on 01904 770345.
