New Cycle Map For Pocklington
12:48pm 11th August 2014
Six fantastic cycle routes starting from the town are in the new map.
The map is a great way to explore the beautiful local landscape on two wheels, particularly if you’ve been inspired by the Tour de France or the British cycling success at the Commonwealth Games this summer.
The rides included on the map range from four to 27 miles so there’s a ride for everyone, whether you’re cycling as a family group or want to try a more challenging route.. Most of the rides run along quiet roads or off-road paths and take in some of the picturesque scenery of the Yorkshire Wolds and the surrounding villages.
The map was funded through the council’s third Local Transport Plan and was developed in partnership with Pocklington Town Council.
Councillor Chris Matthews, cabinet portfolio holder for highways, infrastructure and emergency planning at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said:
“The council is making every effort to encourage more people to get active by dusting off their bikes and exploring their local area on two wheels.. We hope that the map will be well used by residents and visitors to the area and that people enjoy the rides.”
