Appeal After Possible Sighting Monkgate Burglaries Suspect
6:15am 7th August 2014
He was seen walking along the A64, heading towards Malton, at around 8am on Saturday 26 July 2014, and resembles the description of a suspect captured on CCTV.
The burglaries occurred in Monkgate Cloisters between 5.40am and 6.10am earlier the same day.
The suspect is described as white, aged in his late 20s, approximately 6ft tall with an athletic build and short dark hair. He was clean shaven and had a large tattoo on the left hand side of his neck. He was wearing a black crew neck t-shirt, blue jeans and red trainers.
Detective Inspector Alan Rowan, of York CID, said:
“It may be that the man seen walking along the A64 on Saturday 26 July, is unconnected with the burglaries in York. If this is the case I urge him to come forward so that he can be eliminated from our enquiries."
“I am also keen to speak to anyone who lives in the Malton who recognises the man and ask them to get in touch as soon as possible.”
Anyone who can assist this investigation should contact York CID on 101, select option 2 and ask for Matt Wilkinson. Alternatively, information can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
