(Updated 1:14am 5th June 2014)
South Milford has been hit by flooding tonight after a blockage in one of the culverts as well as heavy rain.
The blockage has now been cleared by police and fire crews and waterways are running as normal with all roads now open to traffic.
At one point during the night, people were advised to move their valuables upstairs, with water coming up Woodlands Lane, Steeton Way areas and flowing down the High Street .Fortunately, no one was hurt during the incident.
The fire brigade used heavy duty pumps to remove the water. Sandbags have also been put in place, with more brought to South Milford.
No one was evacuated and now the blockage has been cleared with North Yorkshire Police telling Minster FM they are hopeful there will not now need to be any evacuation.
