New "Jargon Free" Website Launched for Elderly Care in York
1:22pm 3rd June 2014
People looking at York Council’s Adult Social Care web pages will find it even easier to get the right information, thanks to a new ‘jargon buster’.
The council is supporting the jargon buster, which has been produced by Think Local Act Personal – a national partnership of organisations committed to transforming health and care – in a bid to make its services more accessible to everyone.
Councillor Linsay Cunningham-Cross, the council’s Cabinet Member for Health and Community Engagement, said: “Although we try to make sure that all the information on our website is clear and straightforward, jargon can sometimes creep in, especially in connection with health and adult social care. I hope that people will find the new jargon-buster useful.”
To use the jargon-buster visit www.york.gov.uk and follow the link to the Adult Social Care pages.
