Police Deny Facebook Claims About Selby McDonald's "Attack"

North Yorkshire Police are denying claims circulating on Facebook about an alleged attack outside McDonald's in Selby.

The claims on Facebook suggested police had made an arrest after allegations a young man was beaten up and left unconscious outside the restaurant in the early hours of Saturday mornng.

But while North Yorkshire Police confirmed to Minster FM they were called out to McDonald's, the force said in a statement: "Officers attended an address on the Three Lakes Retail Park, at 12.50am on Saturday 31 May 2014, following a report of a disturbance."

"Officers spoke with both individuals and no complaints were made."
