Armed Officers and Helicopters Called Into Search for Tadcaster Stolen Cars

Police are appealing for witnesses after two stolen vehicles were found in Tadcaster.
Numerous police resources including air support and firearms officers were searching the area for the vehicles on Sunday 18 May 2014.
One of the vehicles, a grey Audi A6, was found abandoned on Westfield Crescent at around 4.10pm and a 29-year-old woman from Leeds was arrested nearby.
She remains in police custody for questioning.
Later that evening a 34-year-old man from Leeds was arrested in connection with the incident near the Leeds Arms pub on York Road.
A maroon Vauxhall Vectra was recovered nearby.
He remains in police custody for questioning.
Officers are appealing to anyone who saw the Audi A6 or a maroon Vauxhall Vectra travelling at speed through Tadcaster on Sunday afternoon to contact them with information.
Officers would also like to hear from people who saw anyone acting suspiciously in Tadcaster on Sunday afternoon.
