The investigation team would like to stress that Claudia has not been found.
Police cannot rule out the possibility of further arrests in the future as the review continues.
Claudia’s family have been notified and are being supported by trained officers.
North Yorkshire Police Commissioner Julia Mulligan has issued a statement saying:
“I am sure people will understand that it would be inappropriate for me to comment on an ongoing investigation as operational policing is the responsibility of the Chief Constable."
“More generally, however, I am satisfied to see the investment made in the new Major Crime Unit is able to provide dedicated resources for North Yorkshire Police to concentrate solely on investigation of serious crime, including unresolved cases such as the disappearance of Claudia.”
