Acomb Library to Offer Advice on Dealing with Death

Explore York Libraries and Archives are partnering York Carers’ Forum during national Dying Awareness Week which starts on 14 May. To support this work, Acomb Explore is hosting an information fair on 14 May.
People who are looking for advice on caring for someone close, who are planning for their own future or who are simply interested in finding out what their end of life options are, are invited to come along and learn more at this event.
The Information Fair will run from 10am-4pm with refreshments available. It will include:
- Will writing, probate and the legal side of dying, by solicitors Crombie Wilkinson, 9.30-11am
- Planning for a funeral, by Cooperative Funeral Directors, 9am-5pm
- The importance of organ donation, York NHS Trust, 2-5pm
- Stall run by organisations including: York Carers Forum, Age UK, York Older People’s Assembly, Home Instead and the Healing Clinic.
