York Council Holds Event to Encourage Involvement in Local Democracy

York Council is looking at ways to inspire more people in the city to get involved in local democracy with a drop-in session on Thursday 1 May.
The event, which will take place at West Offices from 5.30pm, will warmly welcome York residents and offer the chance to have a say on what can be improved to help them get more involved in local democracy.
Other issues the Audit and Governance committee are interested in hearing the experiences of residents who have attended council meetings and where they feel improvements could be made.
The event will offer opportunities for the public to meet informally with Councillors who are members of the council’s Audit and Governance Committee and discuss ways to improve local democracy in York.
