2:57pm 29th April 2014

The team who police the Selby district have been joined by an experienced Inspector.

Inspector Vicky Taylor, who will be covering the rural district,  has served with North Yorkshire Police since 2001. She  has worked across the force in front line roles at Harrogate, Ripon and York, as well as the force’s Roads Policing Group. These roles have been both in uniform and plain clothes, when working in CID.

Inspector Taylor has also worked with the Deputy Chief Constable as his Staff Officer, where she had the portfolios for drugs, ACPO Terrorism, and customer focus.

Speaking about her new role, Inspector Taylor, said: “I am delighted to be taking up this post with the opportunities it offers.

“I am looking forward to meeting the local communities and working with partners to establish their priorities and see how we can best help them.

“I will be building on the fantastic work of the dedicated team of police officers, special constables, police staff and volunteers who have made the district one of the safest places to live and work in the country.

“Having previously lived in the area, it’s great to have the opportunity to come back and work here.”
