Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has told Minster FM today that he acknowledges that the congestion on York's ring road is unnacceptable but that there is no 'pot of gold' he can produce.

Speaking today ahead of the Liberal Democrat conference that is taking place in York tomorrow, he said he is aware of the problem and that it is a local matter.

Mr Clegg has said that although it may not be immediate but it will be looked at.

Business Secretary Vince Cable also told Minster FM he knows the city's traffic problems well, having grown up in York himself and that the issue needs addressing.
