York faces gridlock if more people don't get the bus, according to city council forecasts.

As the six month Lendal Bridge trial comes to a close, York Council's been explaining why it brought in the controversial scheme.

Speaking in Minster FM's Lendal Bridge debate, Dave Merrett from the city council says buses need to have priority.

To mark the six month point of the trial, Minster FM held a debate allowing key opinion formers representing tourists, businesses, drivers and bus users to share their views with the city council, as well as putting questions from Minster FM listeners
