BUMP Classes Introduced To Promote Active Labour.
8:09am 23rd February 2014
A new one- group exercise and information session called 'BUMP' has been launched for women in North Yorkshire who are over 20 weeks pregnant.
They are invited to attend the session where an obstetric physiotherapist will give advice, information and exercises to help women keep comfortable and active in pregnancy, as well as helping them prepare for labour.
Physiotherapist Ceri Willis said: "As Women's Health Physiotherapists we are continuing to offer ante-natal group sessions at both York and Selby Hospitals.
"The new 'BUMP' group provides both advice and exercise in pregnancy. We aim to promote activity and well being and give some practical tips on coping with labour.
"This is a one-off session to which ladies may self refer and we are hoping that pregnant ladies will take advantage of this opportunity to have contact with a physiotherapist during their pregnancy."
Sessions will take place at York Hospital on a Monday or Tuesday afternoon and at Selby Hospital on the morning of the third Monday of every month.
To register women can email firstname.lastname@example.org or ring 01904 726204.
They will then recieve a message either by email or text to confirm their place.
