John Lewis Sets York Opening Date

John Lewis has announced today its new shop in York will open its doors at 9am on Thursday 10th April 2014.
The £15 million store, which will be John Lewis' 41st shop and their first opening in 2014.
The new shop will offer fashion, home and electronics including 17 major beauty brands such as Lancôme, Dior and Bobbie Brown as well as three beauty brands exclusive to the shop in the local area; Liz Earle, Japonesque and Lipstick Queen.
There will also be two restaurants; The Hotel Chocolat Cocoa Bean café on the ground floor or the Place to Eat on the first floor. Customers will also have access to computer terminals in the store to enable them to browse and purchase products from the wider johnlewis.com range for next day delivery.
Robert Garnish, branch manager at John Lewis York, said:“Having grown up in Yorkshire, I am excited to announce the completion date of our multi-million pound investment in the area. Together with my team of Partners we are looking forward to welcoming customers through the doors. We’ve been so grateful for the support from the community since we announced this project, and we can’t wait to reveal the shop on April 10th.”
The John Lewis sign has now been put on the building at the Vangarde Shopping Park.
John Lewis York will be their greenest shop to date with a planned wildlife wall alongside low energy lighting and solar cells on the roof to generate energy.
Opening hours for the store will be 9am – 8pm Monday – Friday, 9am – 7pm Saturday and 11am – 5pm on Sundays.
