Police Search for Wanted Polish Man in Selby
11:25am 30th January 2014
Police are appealing for help to trace a Polish man in Selby who is wanted for seven theft and burglary offences in his own country.
A judge from the Bydgoszcz District of Poland has issued a European arrest warrant for Piotr Hubert Rzeznik.
Officers in Selby have been carrying out extensive enquiries to locate the 33-year-old since 10 December 2013.
They are now asking residents to keep an eye out for Rzeznik, who had previously resided on the town’s Volta Street, and report sightings or information to the police straight away.
PC Dave White, of the Selby Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “Piotr Rzeznik has been actively avoiding the authorities but we believe he is still in or around the Selby District.
“He knows that he is wanted in his home country of Poland and it is only right that he is arrested and taken back to face justice.”
He is described as white with a medium build, 5ft 9in tall, short light brown hair that is thinning on top and he has blue eyes.
Rzeznik does not pose a danger to the public but residents are asked not to approach him.
Instead, please call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1, and speak to the Force Control Room.
Information can also be passed to Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111 and quote reference number 12130213441.
