Vandals Destroy Malton Playgrounds

Malton police are appealing for Information after two adjoining school play areas were ransacked by vandals over the weekend.

 

Extensive damaged was caused to play equipment, sheds, picnic benches and guttering in the playgrounds at the rear of Malton Primary School and St Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School on Highfield Road in Malton.

 

Police are appealing for anyone who has any information about the incident which is believed to have taken place overnight between Saturday 25 January into Sunday 26 January, to contact them.

 

PC Mark Rees of Malton Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “It is beyond belief what anyone would hope to gain from damaging small children’s play equipment and facilities.

 

“This has upset a lot of young children whose Monday morning back at school was ruined.

 

“I am appealing to anyone who has any information to come forward without delay. Any information can be treated in the strictest of confidence or if you wish to remain anonymous, you can pass information to Crimestoppers.”

 

Anybody with any information, no matter how insignificant they think it is, is asked to call the police along with anyone who can assist with identifying the suspects.
