Unemployment in North Yorkshire and York has stayed flat, despite a fall nationally.
Figures for December show 6,500 were claiming Jobseekers' Allowance in North Yorkshire, up from 6,371 the month before.
In York, the numbers fell slightly to 2,127 in December down from November's total of 2,133. But that's still the lowest unemployment rate in the city since September 2008.
Nationally, unemployment fell by 167,000 between September and November to 2.32 million.
That's a rate of 7.1%, close to the 7% target where Bank of England governor Mark Carney will consider increasing interest rates from their record low of 0.5%.
