£21,000 Worth of Jewellery Stolen in Appleton Roebuck

Selby police are appealing for information following a burglary and theft of high value jewellery.

It occurred overnight between Tuesday 31 December 2013 and Wednesday 1 January 2014, from a house on Malt Kiln Lane, Appleton Roebuck, when thieves stole around £21,000 of jewellery.

The thieves broke into the house before stealing a large amount of jewellery including gold and silver brooches in leaf and frog designs, topaz and amethyst pendants and a rectangular Rotary watch. Also stolen were earrings with varying designs such as antique plain gold, chandelier and coral drops. Other items taken include pendants shaped liked a spider web, crosses and diamond flowers as well others set with sapphires and amethyst.

PC Julie Dallison, of Selby Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The stolen jewellery has a great deal of sentimental value to the owner as she has inherited it from family members who have since passed away.

“If you have information about those responsible for this burglary I urge you to contact the police straight away.

PC Dallison added: “I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who has been offered any of jewellery matching the description of the stolen items and ask the to get in touch.”
