Resident of North Yorkshire Village Call For Road Safety Improvements

3:35pm 21st January 2014

Residents of a North Yorkshire village are calling for a dangerous stretch of road to be made safer.

They're holding a public meeting tonight to discuss their concerns about the B12-48, which runs through Wharram-Le-Street.

Seven people have died in collisions on the road in the last 4 years.

In November last year, mother and son Iwona, 40 and Konrad Batczak, 18 and Rysard Orlowski, 47, all died in an early morning crash as they travelled from Hull to work at the Malton Bacon Factory.

Now, the parish council wants to prevent more deaths happening on the road.

The public meeting will take place tonight at 7pm in Wharram-Le-Street Parish Church.
