Extravagance is nothing when it comes to horse racing.
And ahead of the new season in May, York Racecourse has announced its record-breaking amount of prize money for 2014.
For the past three years, the prize fund total has continued to rise - and this year, it settles at an astonishing £6million.
The icing on the cake at York Races is usually the Group One Juddmonte International - which takes place on August 20 this year. And if you're willing to compete with the best middle-distance horses in the world, you could take home an £800,000 slice of the pie.
Chairman Lord Grimthorpe expressed his delight in the investment into prize money, and the continuing development of his prestigious race programme.
He said: "Our aim is to continue to attract the very best horses to York, and to stage competitive, compelling racing action."
James Brennan, from the Racecourse, added: "It's a general feel-good factor as we go into 2014."
With such high stakes, it's difficult to imagine how much more compelling it could be.
