Festive Recycling In Easingwold And Thirsk

8:14am 16th December 2013

Hambleton District Council is reminding people in Easingwold and Thirsk to remember to recycle throughout the festive season.

District Council run recycling collections are affected over Christmas and the New Year and  people should refer to their bin tags or Hambleton.gov.uk for collection dates, say the council.

Hambleton District Council is asking people to follow these tips to stay ‘green’ over Christmas:

  • Place Christmas and greetings cards in the blue recycling bag
  • Wrapping paper should also be placed in the blue bag - as long as its not the metallic foil type
  • Tell guests where – and what - to recycle when they are staying over Christmas
  • Make the most of  bring banks for additional recycling -  across the district plastic bottles,  metal cans and tins, glass bottles and jars, paper and cardboard, textiles and Tetrapak cartons can be recycled – please see hambleton.gov.uk for location of bring banks

Anyone who has not received a bin tag should contact Hambleton District Council on 01609 779977 or 0845 1211 555
