Giraffe Restaurant to Join New Monks Cross Development
2:19pm 5th December 2013
Restaurant chain Giraffe is the latest firm to join the new Vangarde Retail Park in York.
The new restaurant will be the first to open in York and will join a number of new restaurants that have come to Monks Cross, including Costa Coffee, Prezzo and Frankie & Benny’s. Costa has agreed a deal on a 1,600 sq. ft. unit and Frankie & Benny’s will move into a 4,000 sq. ft. space in the kiosk and restaurant space.
Richard France, managing director of The Oakgate Group, commented: “I’m confident that with the addition of Giraffe to our restaurant offering means we have one of the best retail line-ups in the UK. We have been working on creating an exciting restaurant space for York, and we will be announcing two more additions hopefully before Christmas.
“We have had tremendous interest in the final 1,000 sq ft unit, and I’m looking forward to announcing the final tenant on the site in the near future.”
The Oakgate Group, which is part owned by Caddick Group, began work in March 2013 on the development. It is set to open in Easter 2014 and will deliver 1,000 new jobs to the City and provide significant funding for the new 6,000 seat Community Stadium, the proposed new home to York City FC and the York City Knights.
