Pickering WWII Bomb Explosion Heard Two Miles Away

An explosion caused by the military exploding a World War Two bomb in Pickering was heard around two miles away.
A member of the public called police at 2.40pm yesterday, reporting that they'd found a possible bomb at Pickering Showground.
Military bomb disposal experts advised police to put up a 200m police cordon around the area.
The World War II mortar was safely detonated by the bomb disposal experts, just after 9am this morning.
