Three men have been arrested and bailed by police investigating an unexplained death near Selby.
It occurred at The Ranch Caravan Park, Cliffe Common, at 3.12am on Sunday 1 December 2013, after a 23-year-old man was found unconscious in one of the caravans.
Despite a number of attempts to revive him, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
One line of enquiry which officers are following, is that the man may have been assaulted at the caravan site the previous evening.
Police officers have arrested and bailed three local men aged 27, 30 and 49, in connection with the death. However, they still need to speak to anyone who was in the Cliffe Caravan Park, prior to the man being found, to establish the events which led up to the discovery of the his body.
Detective Chief Inspector Maria Taylor, who is leading the investigation, said: “I understand that there was a large number of people at the caravan park on the evening of Saturday 30 November 2013. If you were present and have not yet come forward, I urge you to contact the police straight away, as you may have vital information that could help my investigation.
“I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the man being assaulted or noticed a disturbance and urge them to get in touch.”
Anyone who can help officers to progress this investigation should call North Yorkshire Police straight away on 101, select option 1 and pass the information to the Force Control Room.
