A mum and her teenage son were two of the three people killed in a collision on the B1248 between Wetwang and Malton yesterday morning.
The 40 year old woman and 18 year old man were in the car with a 47-year old man who wasn't related to them. The other passengers in the Ford Focus, two men in their thirties, are being treated in Hull Royal Infirmary. The 30year old is in a critical condition while the 37 year old is in a serious condition with several broken bones.
All five of those who were in the car, who were heading to work at the Malton Bacon Factory, were Poles living in Hull.
The 48 year old van driver from Pickering who was also involved in the collision has now been released from hospital.
Police say it may be several days before those killed in the crash are named.
