A man from Bishopthorpe has admitted speeding offences and perverting the course of justice.

Police say Jack Armstrong was first caught speeding on Temple Lane in Copmanthorpe on 10th June and offered a speed awareness course.

Officers then add when he was caught speeding again on the B1217 at Saxton near Tadcaster on 17th August he claimed his number plates had been stolen and cloned.

The 20 year old admitted two counts of speeding and one count of perverting the course of justice and will be sentenced at York Crown Court next month.
