Selina Scott Opens Socks Shop in Malton
2:55pm 18th November 2013
Former Clothes Show presenter Selina Scott says she's "delighted" to be opening her new socks shop on the Shambles.
The new retailer was one of the UK's first breakfast TV presenters, alongside Frank Bough, presenting Breakfast Time back in 1983.
Selina Scott hopes her new shop will bring more people to Malton.
The former broadcaster told Minster FM: "I am delighted to be opening a shop in Malton, one of Ryedale’s most picturesque market towns."
"My socks are made from silky mohair, so feet stay fresh, warm and odourless. They even help feet keep cool in the summer, one of the many advantages of using a natural material such as mohair."
"Customers who have poor circulation, chilblains, diabetes and even varicose veins swear by my socks."
"There’s just one drawback about the socks, though. They last forever!"
She added: "Malton is the ideal location to open my sock shop, nestled in The Shambles alongside other independent outlets and skilled craftspeople."
"The town also has two hours free parking, encouraging people to stay in the town and enjoy what Malton has to offer."
