Police investigating an act of criminal damage in Pickering are appealing for two vital witnesses to come forward.

Officers say it happened at around 10.50pm on Thursday 7 November 2013, when someone threw a brick through the living room window of a house on Goslipgate.

Following the incident a man was seen heading towards Goslipgate Bridge. He is described by police as having a medium build and was wearing a brown hoodie.

The witnesses officers need to trace are a man and woman stood at the junction of Pike Road and Goslipgate.

PC Andy Pomfret, of the local Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “Thankfully no-one in the house was injured as a result of this incident. However, this is only through good luck and I need to identify the person responsible for this act of utter stupidity.

“If you are either of the people stood at the Pike Road junction, I urge you to come forward straight away as you may have vital information that could help my investigation.

“I am also keen to speak to anyone who has information which could help identify the individual to blame and ask them to get in touch.”

Anyone who can assist with this enquiry should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Andy Pomfret. Alternatively, information can be emailed to andrew.pomfret@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.

Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting reference number 12130193780.
