Delays For People Driving Between York And Scarborough

6:35am 11th November 2013

From tonight drivers heading from Ryedale to Scarborough could face delays on the A64. Work to repair drains on the A64 at Staxton will begin tonight.

The Highways Agency will be carrying out repair and maintenance work on the A64 verge side drains until 15 December, overnight between 8pm and 6am.

They say during the work there will be lane closures on the A64 and temporary traffic signals will be in place.

Highways Agency project manager, John Howard, said:

“This work on the drainage system of the A64 will make sure the drains in the area are clear of debris and ready for the winter weather. For the safety of road users and road workers we encourage all drivers to drive carefully through the roadworks, keeping within the speed limit and concentrating on the road ahead.”
