6:01am 9th November 2013
A Channel 4 celebrity will advise foodies how to 'Eat Yourself Young' at Malton Food Lovers Market today (Saturday 9th November) 9am to 3pm in the Milton Rooms.
Yorkshire-born Elizabeth Peyton-Jones appears in the highly successful TV programme How Not to Get Old. A fully-qualified naturopath and herbalist, Elizabeth’s London clinic boasts a clutch of celebrity clients, including actress Thandie Newton.
Today she will bring her expertise and advice to the popular monthly market, demonstrating how to prepare simple and nutritious foods and signing copies of her sell-out book, Eat Yourself Young.
Elizabeth tells Minster FM that she specialises in helping people look and feel their best through choosing the right foods. She adds that: "The Market promotes fresh, local produce and showcases the best that Yorkshire has to offer, which is in keeping with Elizabeth’s healthy-eating mantra."
Elizabeth said: ‘My health was transformed when I started eating natural fresh foods, simply prepared, and boosted with herbs and spices. Malton Food Lovers Market is the ideal place to help promote the value of eating a healthy diet and adopting a youthful lifestyle!’
A glowing example of her own advice, Elizabeth appeared on Channel 4’s How Not to Get Old alongside presenter Louise Redknapp.
The November Market will comprise over 35 stalls bursting with flavoursome foods from 9am to 3pm. It offers free entry, free parking and a free tea or coffee with any bakery purchase. New this month will be some ‘street food’ stalls.
Malton Food Lovers Market includes a number of award-winning stalls, including Sloe Motion, Raisthorpe Manor and the Haxby Bakery. Alongside such regulars, the Market attracts new ventures including Just Jelly, White Rose Bakes and many others.
The Christmas Food Lovers Market will take place on Saturday 14th December, after which the food markets will take a break for January and February, starting again in March.
