York's Local Plan Comes Under Review

Views of sixteen-thousand people who gave their opinions on York's controversial Local Plan will be gone through today.
Concerns fall into four main areas a report for the city council states.
First, the scale of the plan for twenty-two-thousand homes and what that means for the green belt, traffic and flooding risks.
Concerns are also raised over specific sites where those homes would be built such as the new proposed village of Whinthorpe near Heslington.
Finally there are fears over plans to increase land for travellers and the amount of wind turbines.
York Council will now re-draft it's Local Plan and will reveal what changes are made in the New Year.
