Police Investigate Salton Land Rover Theft
12:07pm 30th October 2013
Malton police are appealing for witnesses and information after the theft of a car near the town.
The Land Rover Discovery was stolen from a farm in Salton, Malton, between 10pm on Sunday 27 October and 6am on Monday 28 October 2013.
The vehicle, which was parked in a barn, is dark blue and has the registration number V449HRM.
PC Jane Jones, of Malton Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you have seen the Land Rover since it was stolen or know who is responsible for the theft, I urge you to come forward and contact the police straight away.
“I am also keen to speak to people who may have seen suspicious activity in the village in the days leading up to the theft and ask that they get in touch as soon as possible.”
PC Jones added: “As well as keeping cars securely locked in garages, I would like to remind owners that if the vehicle has a security alarm system, they activate it. If it doesn’t have an alarm system, or is parked outside, they should consider using secondary security equipment such as a steering wheel lock.”
