Selby Police Take Action To Prevent Car Thefts
8:39am 8th October 2013
Selby police are hosting a crime prevention “day of action” to help prevent 2-in-1 burglaries.
A 2-in-1 burglary is where the offenders break into you home to steal your car keys and other items before stealing your car from outside your home.
The local Safer Neighbourhood Team will be heading to Drax, Hambleton and Thorpe Willoughby with the mobile police station today (Tuesday 8 October 2013).
They will begin in Drax at 9am to 10.30am, then on to Hambleton at 11am to 12.30pm and finally, Thorpe Willoughby between 1.30pm and 2.30pm.
Officers from the Selby Rural Safer Neighbourhood Team including PC Angela Richardson, Police Community Support Officer Marcus Darley and PCSO Tracey Wright will be on hand to give crime prevention advice for you, your home and your car.
PCSO Marcus Darley, said: “We’ve had a number of 2-in-1 burglaries recently and want to raise awareness of basic crime prevention measures which will help stop you from becoming a victim of crime.
“The road-shows are designed to take the police into the heart of our communities and give people living in rural areas an opportunity to meet their local officers and get valuable advice. Everyone is welcome – even if you don’t own a car and would like other advice or just a chat - please come and see us.”
