A north Yorkshire father has spoken of his terror as his son fell 18 foot through a sky light.
Mark rooke and his son Peter were carrying out routine maintenance when the accident happened at their farm near Helmsely.
Peter needed his leg pinning with a steele rod and was out of action for 8 weeks.
And thats just one of 48 incidents which occured on the regions farms last year. The Health and Saftey exec say in the last 12 months alone there have been 48 serious accidents and 2 deaths on Yorkshire farms.
As a result farmers in North Yorkshire are being asked to make a New Years promise to come home safe from the field.
Julian Franklin is from the Health and Saftey exec for our region and reckons a lot of the accidents could be prevented. Hes asking farmers to 'make a promise to come home safe from the field'.
