Audi Stolen in Two in One Burglary in Burn
1:23pm 24th September 2013
Selby police are appealing for information and offering advice after a 2-in-1 burglary near the town.
It occurred between 10.45pm on Monday 23 September and 6.20am on Tuesday 24 September 2013, when an Audi A6 was stolen from a house on Park Lane, Burn.
The car is black and has the registration number YE13UMG.
PC Richard Wood, of Selby Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you can help to identify the thieves or have seen the Audi since it was stolen, I urge you to come forward and contact the police straight away.
“Can I also remind homeowners to make sure that they securely lock doors and windows, to prevent burglars gaining easy access to their property.
“If the house has a garage, lock your car inside. If it doesn’t have one, ensure that the car is parked in a well lit public area and that the alarm system is activated or an anti-tampering device, such as a steering wheel lock, is fitted.
PC Wood added: “If you would like advice about your home’s security, you can either contact your local Safer Neighbourhood Team or CASAC, who offer a free and no obligation security survey of your property.”
CASAC is a non-profit organisation, which can be contacted on 0845 5192122 or www.casac.org.uk.
