Man Posing as Dr in Selby - Police Appeal For Information

3:57pm 4th September 2013

Police in Selby are appealing for information after a man posing as a doctor called at an elderly woman's home and asked her questions of a sexual nature.

The man, who said his name was Dave and he was a replacement doctor from Beech Tree Surgery in Selby, managed to talk his way into the woman's bungalow on Kitchener Street at around 12pm on 5 August 2013, say police.

They add that he asked the woman, aged 79, questions of a sexual nature before she asked him to leave.

Officers have been making extensive enquiries to trace the man and are asking the public to come forward with information that could assist the investigation.

Anyone who has been visited in similar circumstances is also urged to get in touch with the police or Crimestoppers.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 - select option 2 - and ask for Detective Constable Emma Drummond or Selby CID.

Alternatively, information can be emailed to emma.drummond@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk

If you wish to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111.
