Police Investigate Ampleforth Fuel Theft

Malton police are appealing for information following a theft of fuel from a vehicle near the town.

Officers say it was stolen between 6pm on Friday 30 August and 12noon on Sunday 1 September 2013, from a Land Rover parked on Geldgate, Ampleforth.

They add that the thieves cut the fuel pipes before stealing approximately three-quarters of a tank of fuel.

PC Louise Beck, of Malton Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you saw any suspicious activity in the Ampleforth and specifically  the Geldgate area, I urge you to contact the police straight away.”
