North Yorkshire Police is investigating a collision on the A19 at Eggborough, in the Selby District, which resulted in the death of a horse.
Officers say that the incident happened opposite the junction with High Eggborough Lane at about 2pm on Thursday 8 August 2013.
It involved a red Toyota Yaris car driven by a 23-year-old local woman who was heading in the direction of Selby, and a horse ridden by a 14-year-old local girl that entered the carriageway from the side of the road, say police.
