City of York Council spend £17,000 on refreshments

15 millions pounds needs to be saved and the City of York Council's says cuts are needed.
We're all aware the financial pressures the authority is facing, but Minster FM's done some digging of our own.
We can exclusively revealed that since April over 17 thousand pounds has been spent by the council on refreshments for meetings and on civic events.
That a large number when staff are being threatened with job losses.
One of the biggest expenses was for the Lord Mayor's Day, when over 6 thousand 6 hundred pounds was spent - over a thousand of which was on alcohol alone.
York residents are being asked for their thoughts on where the council can make cuts.
